Employee Representatives
In Law No. 6331, an employee authorized to represent employees in matters such as participating in occupational health and safety activities, monitoring these activities, requesting precautionary measures to be taken, making proposals, and similar issues is defined as an "employee representative."
The number of employee representatives to be assigned in a workplace is determined as follows:
a) One in workplaces with between two and fifty employees. b) Two in workplaces with between fifty-one and one hundred employees. c) Three in workplaces with between one hundred and one and five hundred employees. d) Four in workplaces with between five hundred and one and one thousand employees. e) Five in workplaces with between one thousand and one and two thousand employees. f) Six in workplaces with two thousand and one or more employees.
The employee representative is authorized to represent employees in matters such as participating in occupational health and safety activities, monitoring these activities, requesting measures to be taken to eliminate the source of danger or to reduce the risk arising from the danger, making proposals, and similar issues.
